Team Leader- Monika Malluege

Meeting time: Monday @ 7:00
Goals- This year, I would like to see the team create updated I-Movie documentation due to the updated version on all computers. I would also like more of the TLC to feel
comfortable with the program. The basics are very easy to learn, but some
of the smaller details take time unless they are directly pointed out.
I had a really hard time exporting an iMovie to iDVD tonight (10/17) for Professor Harris. I tried it like 8 or 9 different times before it worked, and I don't know what I did differently the last time. Also, the movie was 16 minutes long and took around 2 hours to burn. Does anyone know a good way to export the movies from iMovie to iDVD? We're going to need to get something posted before all of the Miller & Crowe projects get going.
Also, here is a link I stumbled on that looks like it has a lot of info.

Apparently someone did a demo of iMovie with some students in the Red lab
about 2 weeks ago. At least one student went back to the same computer
she worked on the demo on and started another project. Today she was
dismayed when she logged in and found her iMovie folder empty, even though
the project she was working on was only a week old.
If a student wants to start a new project, they should do the following:
1) delete all the files in their iMovie project folder (e.g. w1234567) &
empty the Trash
2) log out
3) log back in
When they log out, if the iMovie folder is empty, it gets deleted. Then
when they log in it gets re-created with a new expiration date.
Another alternative would be to simply move to a different computer
(thought it would be good practice to delete their old iMovie project on
the original computer first to make that space available for other student
projects).
Please make sure the people teaching students how to use iMovie are aware
of this and passing the knowledge on. You may want to suggest to anybody doing hands-on demonstrations that they instruct their students to delete the demo files when done.
